SpeedFan 4.28 beta 11 - new version of a SpeedFan utility, which allows to take measures from motherboard, HDD and nVidea video cards and also change fan speed.
Run this beta, enter the S.M.A.R.T. tab, make sure you are connected to the internet, select one EIDE or SATA hard disk, then press the "PERFORM IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS..." and you will be presented an advanced check of your hard disk, including warning, errors and tips. This is a technology preview that uses a database containing statistical data for a lot of hard disk models. Send me emails with your comments, suggestions and (hopefully few) bug reports. This feature simply needs to be able to send an HTTP request. HTTP PROXY settings have been centralized in CONFIGURE dialog.
In order to run this beta, simply install SpeedFan 4.27, then replace the EXE from version 4.27 and then run SpeedFan as usual. Please, use the SEND REPORT facility on the INFO tab adding your notes.

| Opera 8.0 Beta 1 has been released. Developers has increased the speed and enhanced the usability. Opera 8.0 Beta 1 has now voice control through standard Speech API Windows 2000/XP. Opera 8.0 also has a pretty useful feature: Fit to Window Width. When you enable it you won't see horizontal scroll bar any more. The browser replaces long images with text, decreases font size etc. Opera 8.0 Beta 1 also has enhanced RSS, useful Start Bar.

BartPE - a very good tool for creating bootable windows disk (Preinstalled Environment). Windows is loading with some restrictions though. BartPE gives a complete graphicsl interface with file systems support (FAT/FAT32/NTFS/CDFS) and network. With BartPE you can test, scan for viruses, restore files - whatever.
The disk itself can be included with necessary tools (A43 File Management Utility, Ad-Aware SE, Check Disk (chkdsk.exe), Disk Commander 1.1, ERD Commander 2002, IrfanView, McAfee Stinger, McAfee VirusScan, Mozilla Embed, Nero Burning Rom, PuTTY, RAMDisk [QSoft], Symantec Ghost 8.0, Total Commander 6, UltraVNC and others). The exacution of these programs are done through dynamical Nu2Menu. BartPE needs Windows XP distributive for creating a disk.
